The ADDIE Model in Action

This is how I used the ADDIE model on the Simplistically Digital Project

Simplistically Digital hired me to turn their ebook called ,YouTube as a Side Hustle into a self paced online learning experience. Below I will take you on a journey of my design process. The course was initially designed using Adobe Captivate and there are currently two working versions of this course. One version exists in Adobe Captivate Prime LMS where it is a gamified course where learners earn badges. The other version contains course content developed in Adobe Captivate that was transferred to TalentLMS via SCROM. I hope my excitement working on this project can be clearly seen in my work. Enjoy!

Analysis

Framing Analysis Document

The Framing Analysis document was used to help frame the problem for the Simplistically Digital project. This document was used to research what competitors in the market are currently doing around the issue at hand. My targeted goal with this document was to brainstorm how the course that I would be developing for the client would stand out amongst the rest. Click the button below to examine the framing document for this project.

Focus Statement

After Framing the problem a focus statement was developed . Click the button below to read the focus statement.

Instructional Objectives

The course objectives were next developed using Bloom's Taxonomy. Some objectives require learners to perform lower tier activities such as knowledge checks and gradually they move up to the synthesis phase of Bloom's which consist of the performance task.

Course Assessments/Activities

After creating learning objectives, course assessments/activities were brainstormed and articulated on paper for review by the client.

Project Management Plan

Before proceeding to the next phase in the Addie model, a project management plan was developed. The plan outlined the cost of the project, the anticipated time frame of the project and the appropriate forms of communication with the client while working on this project. Click the button below to examine the project management plan.

Design

Storyboard

After going through the analysis process I transitioned to the design phase of the ADDIE model. I created a storyboard for my client. Click the button below to examine a portion of the storyboard that I developed for my client.

Adobe Captivate Responsive Template

For the Simplistically Digital project we chose to use Adobe Captivate to use the choose your own adventure theme for this project. The goal in using this was to make the course more engaging for learners.

Course Design Document

The course design document was used to outline the flow of the course. The design document was approved by the client before the prototype was developed. Click the button below to examine the course design document for this project.

Development

User Research Form Results

After the prototype was developed, mock stakeholder groups went through the online course with the viewpoint of they assigned focus group . The results of this form, helped to shape and mold the final version of the online learning experience that was delivered to the client. The user feedback from was created using Google Forms. Click the button below to examine the results.

Visualizing User Feedback Data

After examining the user feedback data, the information was presented to the client in a visual form , using charts and graphs. Click the button to see a screenshot of some of the data.

Client Feedback Form

After the client has reviewed the prototype, their first impressions were captured via a client feedback form https://my.forms.app/form/6209e740015f7839d849f3ba . The feedback from the client assisted me in editing the prototype to fit the needs of the client and how to truly best capture their vision.

Learner Experience Error Review Document

A stakeholder that was tasked with analyzing the course as a student went through the prototype course and found all user errors that existed. The mock student had to use a user error document to go slide by slide finding errors that existed within the prototype. The errors that were mentioned in the document were used to do the final edit of the course before it was presented to the client.Click the button below to examine the user error form for module 2 of the course.

Implementation

Course Navigation Overview

In the implementation phase of the ADDIE model, a course navigation document was created to help learners to have the best experience while going through the course. The navigation document highlights key features that learners will encounter throughout the course. Click the button below to examine the document.

Course Links Document

Since this course was developed to be adaptive and self paced, a document was created in case learners had difficulties accessing the links to the course or the activities. This document serves as a one stop shop for everything that is linked within the online learning experience. Click the link to examine the document.

Learner Course Overview Document

Before learners begin the course, they are instructed to review this document. This document goes over the purpose of the course and the computer specifications that will need to have in order to have the best viewing experience as they go through the course at their own pace. You can examine the course overview document by clicking the button below.

Client Sustainability and Implementation Document

The client sustainability and implementation document contains information for the client to be able to run the course by themselves. The course was developed in Adobe captivate and moved to the clients chosen learning management system platform which is TalenLMS via SCROM. Each Adobe Captivate module zip files were moved to TalentLMS one by one and altered to fit the chosen site. Click the button to see the client's plan.

Evaluation

QCTIP Scorecard

The QCTIP scorecard was used as a rubric to evaluate the quality of the course design. In areas where the score was poor, revelation of that sections was addressed in the final product for the client.Click the button to see an example of the scoring rubric.

Reflecting on client Feedback

After finishing this project from start to finish, I reflecting on the client's feedback. My reflection can be found by clicking on the link below.

TalentLMS End of Course Learner Evaluation Form

This version of the course is held in the TalentLMS platform. At the end of the course, learners provide Talent feedback about the course using the embedded feedback from. A screenshot of the form can be found by clicking on the button below.

Adobe Captivate Prime Learner Feedback

In the second version of the course which was made using Adobe Captivate prime , there was a feedback form created that randomly  asks learners questions as they go throughout the course. Click the button below to see a screenshot.
